Charter Oak Connecticut Broadleaf Toro by Foundation Cigar Company is a deeply flavorful, medium-to-full-bodied cigar that embodies the soul of Connecticut tobacco heritage. Created by master blender Nicholas Melillo, this cigar pays tribute to his home state and the legendary tobacco farms of the Connecticut River Valley, offering rich flavor and exceptional craftsmanship at an approachable price.
Handcrafted at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua, this 6 x 52 Toro features a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and a blend of aged Nicaraguan long-fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. The result is a smooth, complex smoke with excellent balance and depth.
The flavor profile opens with bold notes of espresso, dark cocoa, and earth, followed by hints of molasses, toasted oak, and black pepper. As the cigar progresses, subtle touches of dried fruit, caramel, and spice develop, leading to a creamy, slightly sweet finish with lingering richness.
