E.P. Carrillo Essence Maduro Robusto by E.P. Carrillo / Casa Carrillo is a compelling new addition to the Essence series, offering a rich and flavorful maduro experience at an approachable price point.
This 5 × 50 Robusto features a dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper, over a Honduran binder, and a core of Nicaraguan long-fillers. The cigar is produced at the Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic.
In the early stages, flavors of mocha, espresso, and cocoa take center stage, accompanied by touches of earth, cedar, and white pepper. As the smoke progresses, the coffee notes deepen and the pepper gains presence, while cedar and earthy undertones linger in the background. Strength begins in the medium range and builds toward medium-to-full in the second half, with body tracking slightly ahead of strength throughout.
